ok, so there are some issues that are happening now in the EPL.for fellow avid warcraft gamers, you would think that i'm gonna talk about the Eastern Plaguelands. but sadly, there's not really any issues happening in the Eastern Plaguelands. the only things there now are probably some skeletons and zombies walking around for you guys to slaughter. but it's an extremely high level area so please do not venture out there if you've got no business around there. haha.
ok. so the issues that i'm more concerned about is the English Premier League. let's tackle them one by one. pun not intended there. ahahhaha.
1) Should Man Utd rid of Alex Ferguson?
Well, this question should have carried more weight in the preseason. but looking at how United have managed in the last few games. I would think that Sir Alex's ass is more or less safe in the hotseat. With the sale of RVN, many expected the goals to dry up for Man Utd, but somehow he has managed to get Saha and Rooney performing so admirably upfront.
Considering the age of both Giggs and Scholes, people would wonder if they are able to endure such a long hard season ahead, but looking at the squad Utd has, they still have the likes of Richardson, Fletcher, and even Park to enter the Fray. with Alan Smith yet to return to full action, Utd already have to luxury of rotating their strikers. Solskjaer is back but i really suspect if he still have got what it takes to lead the line for Utd.
One good thing about this Utd team is that their players have got the capability of playing in more then 1 position. Richardson, Fletcher and Park, all can play down the middle of down the wing. Giggs have been asked to play the 'Scholes' role a few times last season. And the much documented 'holding' role have been covered by no less then O'Shea, Smith and even Rio Ferdinand. And with the addition of Carrick, and in a few days time, i guess even Owen Hargreaves would join up with the Red Devils, there should be no shortage of 'holding' midfielders for Utd.
The one and only weakness i might suggest is the suspect defense. Rio Ferdinand is a classy defender no doubt. but he is not consistent enough to be considered a world class defender. Mikael Silvestre is a major weakness as he is prone to very very poor lapses in concentration often causing the team unwanted problems. Wes Brown and O'Shea both offers good games here and there but they do not perform enough to be a first choice in the Utd team. Nemanja Vidic and Gabriel Heinze. Both have impressed me last season. They are the few good buys that Sir Alex have bought in the previous few seasons. solid and distributes the ball well, they need to stay healthy more often so that their services can be maximised.
By building a team that revolves around the speed and aggressiveness of both Rooney and Ronaldo, Sir Alex has shown that he has not lost it yet. He still have got what it takes to handle this new generation football world. He might not be as fiery as before, but his knowledge of the EPL is second to none. He has seen it through everything with Utd, and I believe bar any freak accident and retirement, he will still be the best man to lead them through at least even the next season.
2) Liverpool to provide the stiffest title challenge?
Being a Liverpool fan, when even the red of liverpool runs in my blood, I would be somewhat bias in answering this question. However, I do not like the tag of being favourites to oust Chelsea. It somehow adds pressure to the team and to the players, which i feel would not work to our favour. Benitez have brought alot of new faces to the team and i would still want to believe that he has bought well. I've made alot of noise last season about how Cisse was the only player that possesses geniune pace in the whole of the Liverpool team. The strike force of Crouch and Morientes would never be able to chase down those long passes sent down by either Alonso or Gerrard. More often then not these attacks are often broken down due to their lack of pace. However this season, Bellamy upfront, Pennant on the right and Gonzales on the left would really prove to be alot for defenders to handle. Imagine 3 lightning flashes coming it you.
Pace was the difference between Liverpool and the other top 3 last season. Giggs and Ronaldo, Robben and Joe Cole, Reyes and Henry. They can tear defenses apart by just their quick movement. But now, we're right up there with them. The most important buy of all, i would like to believe is Jermain Pennant. Last season, Liverpool tried a host of players at rightwing. and none of them was able to do anything productive there. Cisse, Garcia, Kromkamp, and even Gerrard played at rightwing. By having Pennant this season, it frees up Gerrard to be able to play in the center where he will be the most productive and authoritive.
Much as much as i hate to say this, but Liverpool is still very much a one man team to a certain extent. Gerrard is the man. Gerrard is Liverpool. He is a one man destroyer, he breaks up attacks, and starts attacks on his own. Just look at him pick up the ball in the middle of the park and drive forward, you'll get what i mean. The way he bamboozles pass players is really like a tank. Strong and fast, he'll shove you aside and lets you eat his dust.
Dirk Kuyt. The latest Liverpool addition. He has impressed on his debut. However i believe that it's still early days to say anything. Remember El Hadji Diouf? Scored 2 goals if i'm not wrong on his debut against Southampton. and what happens after that? well, not much that i can remember. There have been too many examples that i don't even dare to mention.
Defense was Liverpool's forte. It's one of the hardest to breakdown, especially at Anfield. Very well organised and protected by either Hamann, Alonso or Sissoko. But Hamann have left and I tink Sissoko might just be able to emulate his performances. He has been very very hardworking and full of running on all the occasions i've seen him. Not afraid to put in tackles, reminds me of a certain Patrick Viera when he just arrived at Arsenal. But the problem now is Sami Hyppia. I say he's a weakness because i feel that nowadays, even i can run faster then him. And i don't exactly run very fast. Even though his reading of the game is still superb, but he is really too slow to be of any effect against speed demons like Aaron Lennon, or even Darren Bent. Maybe Benitez should slowly blood Daniel Agger into the game and ease him into partnering Jamie Carragher. The other new signing, Gabriel Pauletta looked to be disastrous in the preseason games that he have played. I think he needs maybe more games in the reserves first.
I shall say that it very much depends on Dirk Kuyt. If he is able to gel into the team and plays like he does in the Dutch league, I will say that Liverpool will certainly have a chance at snatching the title from Chelsea.

eh wait, just when i want to start blogging suddenly got people msg me in msn. 90% of the time i'm online nobody msg me. den when i want to blog only got ppl msg me. sibei disturb my train of thought. i'm playing amelie soundtrack, tv is off, no one else is at home. everything is peaceful, with good music, best time to blog. but now this have to happen. tragic man.
but talking about soundtracks, the amelie soundtrack is really good. it's just nothing but music. colonial french flavour, if there's ever such a thing. lol.. i've a pretty small collection of soundtracks. but i like them. they're my mood music. there's music for any sorta mood. The Godfather soundtrack is also legendary. That's more along the more italian flavour. Something's Gotta Give have got a pretty decent soundtrack too. It's very relaxing, more into jazz and lounge. Jack Nicholson even makes an appearance on one of the tracks. it's one of those cds to play in the evening enjoying the sunset and sipping wine.
More into the Asian side of this vast musical continent, the soundtrack for the korean movie The Classic is always very nice. being very emotional and sentimental, i loved the show for it's blend of undying love and the music. There's a couple of classical tracks thrown in, and also some oldies, from the 70s. lol... perfect for the romantic dinner with ur date.
and being such a naruto fan, i tink i might have to give it a mention. there's so much music they use in naruto. but i guess most of the people might not really notice. there's music for any emotion. be it walking down the alley alone at night. or getting the adrenalin rush to beat the crap out of someone. nothing is missed. on the same topic of anime, i remember watching this movie, Howl's Moving Castle and being captivated by the fantasque array of weirdness. and also the music. all the music done by Joe Hisaishi.
and who could have missed the great 1st Matrix soundtrack. it brought music in movies up another level. and there's the theme songs in Superman, Batman, Indiana Jones just to name a few. i'm purposely leaving the Star Wars theme. too many people knows it. Anybody else knows of any great soundtracks? those mainly with just music? let me know ya? there'll be a prize for the first to let me know.
oh, i tink i've digressed a far bit from my original topic. i like to digress. i like to talk abt just whatever comes to my mind. that's me. if you don't like it. den errrrrrrrr... i dunno how also lar.
back to the Newpaper. it's irritating. the good thing is that the sports section is still pretty good. still very indepth. but the news section is non-existent. zero. zilch. none. 0. all you get is those drama mama story in singapore or malaysia. notice i say it's drama-mama story leh. they dun even have like a couple of pages for real news. only snippets. real news can only get less den half a page in Newpaper for snippets of it. and wat's worst? they share it with the comics section.. i would really love to type more cos i wan to complain. but i suddenly feel this surge of sleepiness within me. it's slowly gaining control. it's hard fighting this feeling. so hard now that even Pluto's no more a planet. damn.
Can you imagine those kids in school. imagine they were told that there's 9 planets going around. and todae they are asked in some general knowledge quiz. ''how many planets are there?'' and they answer 9! they will be wrong!!! after listening so attentively in class to their teachers talking about stupid planets and solar system, and getting the chance to show off their knowledge, they are now WRONG!!! they will have a freaking traumatised childhood i tell you...
had a great day out with my frens yesterday. yea. really great. Cheers to you guys for bringing back some fun into my life man. and there's one thing that i hate the most about being alone somewhere using the wireless and that's the need to go to the freaking toilet!!!! knn! sibei sibei sibei mafan. so now what do i need to do? pack up all my things. get my laptop. close it put it back into the bag. take my things. abandon my table and walk off to the toilet. and wat after i do my business and come back? find that someone else have too my table. and that the person have already cleared my drink. and there goes my drink which is also my ticket to sitting down there and using the wireless internet. sianzz...
isn't there a better way to settle this problem? i dunno. cos i need to pee quite badly now, and when that sort of things happen. my brain dun really function very well arrrrggghhhh....

the past 3 weeks have been quite a humbling experience man. usually i'm the one screaming at people, i'm the one who shows people attitude. but now i kena scream at, i kena show attitude man. wth man!!! tat's why every night i come home, must shout at my sister's soft toys. slam them around the house, step on them.
den i feel shoik!! but then my sister will come in. see what i am doing, and she'll start screaming at me. den i don't feel so shoik anymore!! monkey breast man..... so in the end i also dun feel shoik. so what else do i do?
this is a very good question leh. what do i do? hmmmm... i play my football manager, or i play my world of warcraft. but the spirit of the great gamer seemed to have left me. deserted me at the time when i really need him. i used to be able to sit in front of the computer. don't give 2 hoots whether Miss Puerto Rico or Miss Japan is beside trying to seduce me and i can still continue playing my game. but now, i can't even concentrate on it for even 30mins. i'll be so sian, i'll stare at the character in the mind, and try to make the character in the game stare at me. and then realise that the stupid character in the game doesn't look as handsome as me. DUH!!!!!!

and another thing. the TV. my dad suddenly have got the mood to watch TV nowadays. and he's like the king at home. so whatever he wants to watch. nobody can fight. he watches all the chinese news, all the ancient chinese programs on china, discovery channel, national geog. at least the last 2 is quite ok. but all the china programs. FAINTZ. it's ultra boring lar. i dunno how people can watch and still stay awake.
you watch the mountains. you watch the water flowing around. den you watch the wind blow the leaves on the tree flying around. and den watch those professor like presenter talk in the ultra monotonous tone of chinese. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH... SOMEBODY SAVE ME!!!
and all the korean shows that my mom and sis want to watch.... where everybodying will cry cry cry... ROARRRR!!! and you know wat's the worst thing? i've been deprived of soccer every since world cup ended. but heng ahhhh! the season is starting again. which means no more lonely weekends...... so that's really a small small consolation for me. which means the beers will start flowing again. woohooo! so quite sian at home now.
but even though i complain about work. the people around are nice. which is what brought me thru the whole 3 weeks. but i'm quite sad that i only managed to really talk to them towards the end of my stint. and alot of them left after my 2nd week. so for the last week, it was only the few of us to xiang yi wei ming. haha.

its an unexpected turn of events. went to work in the morning expecting to finish up work and come home to slack the friday night away just like any other day. some hiccups happened during work so that we could not continue for awhile. so the few of us starting talking cock. and suddenly someone started asking people to go ktv as she had the cravings. and i was like omg... i had the exact same feeling just last night. i was having the cravings too and was just singing song alone to myself in front of the computer. haha!
and at the end of the day. we managed to get 5 of us. and again i was the only guy around. the ratio of guy : ger in this line is just abit unbalanced. and i'm glad to be able to make use of my so called ''talent'' to work in this line too. today was really the first day that i really mixed around with my colleagues after 2 weeks of work. but sadly a whole bunch of them was doing their last day yesterday as their project is over.
but out of the 5 ktv-ers, 4 will still be around. so it was quite a good 'getting to know each other much better' session. just say that i had lots of fun. the bus trip down, ktv-ing itself, and the long walk to the mrt station after that. no pictures now. booo.
there's another issue i want to talk about. makes me happy and sad at the same time. but nevermind lar. those people that i've been talking to should know wat i'm talking about. hee.
