Louis Vuitton
i gotta admit that i haven been going out. so much so that i have not topped up my ezlink card since the beginning of december. and one place that i have not set foot on is town. but, other places that i go... there's one thing that i keep seeing... the ever recognizable, unmissable monogramme (however u spell it) design of louis vuitton. it's everywhere. i take bus or take train. the person in front of me or beside me will tap the ezlink card with the LV wallet.

or some smelly aunty will shove me from behind to get ahead of the queue to buy the chicken rice with her LV bag. knn... use LV bag to shove me machiam i will feel more high class like that. i use shit to shove into ur face see if u will feel smelly or not lar. but my point is that the whole world is carrying LV now! be it real or fake....

i suspect 50% or more of them uses fake one lar. since it's so easy to buy now from almost everywhere. and then i also dunno how to tell. i mean if u let me look at it closely i might be able to tell lar.. but not when u shove it at me.. i bet some of them dun even know what LV is lar. jus carry cos brown brown look nice mar. den see at the hongkong or bangkok 'pasar malam' sell cheap cheap then they buy lor.

KNN one leh. so if everybody is using either real or fake LV. den still wan to use LV for what? got kick meh? everybody use then i also use. i thought this kind of thing is cool when u use things that other people don't have. now trend change already meh? we really moving towards being such a communist state? people have then everybody shud have the same thing? no wonder the mao zedong watches, mao zedong shirts so fashion nowadays lar.

so go and find other brands to buy ok? got so many others also.. prada... gucci.. and many many long long name that i dunno how to spell one also. i'm sick of see LV stuffs already. scared. gucci good. get gucci. no more LV. please.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
as we're on the topic of LV Gucci, maybe i'll talk about girl's handbags. There's one thing that many people do not realise. sometimes girls shop till they are tired and sweaty and needs a rest. so they will ask their bf to help them hang on to their handbags. and being gentlemen that they are. they will gladly obliged. now this is one thing which i would like to bring to attention. Girls handbags are smelly...
Why you ask? Girls like to put perfume all this smell nice nice one mar.
Yes, you right about that. but girls usually carry their handbag by slinging it onto their shoulders. and where's the handbag? either jus beneath the armpit... or it's KIAP into their armpit. Remember how i mentioned that they are tired after shopping for the whole day? sweaty and all... yes. and there you are boys clinging on to her handbag for dear life.. oh man...
So guys, my suggested solution is, even though it might look bad, KIAP it under ur armpit also... and walk around with it. within 5 seconds she would have yanked it out of ur armpit. and u tell her.. ''you also like that mar...'
The Interview
For most of his life, Bobby Pua has just pretty much been a normal guy, nothing much interesting has happened in his life ever. Now, he's currently finishing up the final 5 months of his sentence. We have the priviledge to sit down with Bobby just a couple of days before the start of a new year to ask him about his life and see what he has to say.
Interviewer : Good morning Bobby, we're very glad that you've actually taken time off your schedule to talk to us.
Bobby : Yea, my pleasure.
Interviewer : So how have you been? I see that you've been having a very very mundane lifestyle for the pass year.
Bobby : Have been pretty much fucked up. I hadn't been the best of years that I've had. But it could have been better.
Interviewer : Any plans for 2006?
Bobby : Yes. But I'm not going to tell you.
Interviewer : Awww, come on, I'm sure all the people out there wants to know? Why don't you just reveal parts of it.
Bobby : I'll be buying more 4Ds and Totos, maybe not so much of Big Sweep, that's totally rubbish anyway..
Interviewer : What the fuck? Oppps.. I meant what the hell...
Bobby : That's ok, you can fuck around when I'm around but just don't fuck around with me.
Interviewer : I'm so sorry. So any plans on getting hitch? It seems that its all the rage now with your teammates.
Bobby : Nah, seems like the standards I've set for myself are a little too high. There can't seem to be anyone that can fit into it. And I aint one to lower my standards just for the sake of getting hitch if you get what i mean?
Interviewer : Errr, no....
Bobby : You're fucking stupid...
Interviewer : hey watch it.
Bobby : WATCH THIS **POW**
Interviewer : *ouch* okay, sorry...... can we continue please?
Bobby : Whatever....
Interviewer : So how do you view love?
Bobby : I love my family very much. They're everything to me now. You know what's priceless? To be able to go home everyday after work, to drink your mom's soup. Now that's priceless. To all those who have abandoned their parents, u know what? SCREW YOU.
Interviewer : Strong words indeed Bobby...
Bobby : Well, screw you too..
Interviewer : hey... I love my mummy too ya..
Bobby : Whatever...
Interviewer : How about the other kind of love?
Bobby : oh. For friends? People that know me well enough know that I love my friends alot. But whether they love me back that's another problem. That's one of the most pressing problem that i'm currently facing. As I've mentioned previously, that i might not be the smartest when it comes to this. So at times I might be made used of by people or betrayed. I treat people as true friends and they treat me like shit. You get what i mean?
Interviewer : Oh yes yes.. I get it I get it. How about love? For that special person? You know?
Bobby : Well, i don't really want to talk about it. But if you insist. There's just somebody I want to talk to. But that person will not hear what i say. I regret not talking to her enough. I regret not trying to know her well enough. I regret not trying to make her stay. She's off to a faraway place. To get married. As we're talking, she might be many many miles above us. But she will be happy. She'll wake up every morning, and wake her husband up. Make breakfast for him and then send him off to work. After that, she will wash some clothes, buy some groceries and wait for her husband to come back. Dinner with her husband and also watch TV lying beside him on the couch the whole evening. Wonderful life isn't it?
Interviewer : But if she could hear you, is there anything that you would want to tell her?
Bobby : No
Interviewer : Huh? No?
Bobby : Ya. No. And you got a problem with that?
Interview : No problem. Sorry Sorry. So where did she go to?
Bobby : I decline to answer that. But currently there's alot of people leaving the country. 31st Dec to Australia 4th Jan to France 6th Jan to Germany.
Interviewer : Who are these people?
Bobby : My brother's going to France. Expensive shit man. I'm still trying to help in whatever way I can. Gonna miss him. Will be alot of things I can't do without him around. And gonna be worried too. First time he'll be away from home and it's gonna be for 4 months. But he's not a small boy anymore. So I guess it should be pretty much ok.
Interviewer : But you're gonna have the whole room to yourself..
Bobby : No difference, I'm hardly in my room anyway, I'm just there to sleep.
Interviewer : So what do you do most of the time at home anyway?
Bobby : Well, it's the same thing as always. Do some chatting on MSN, play some Winning Eleven, play some Football Manager, alittle bit of Dota, watch some TV, and eat. This is pretty much everything I'm doing. Actually beginning to read again but it's hard to get the peace around the house to do that. It gets pretty noisy around here at my house. So it's hard.
Interviewer : Bobby, you don't seem to be that much of an interesting person that I thought you were. You're pretty much as much of a boring person as I am. Now I'm wondering if I should invite you back for another interview. But no matter what, thanks for you time taken today and for you inputs. Hope you can provide more interesting words the next time ok?
Bobby : **POW**
ps: anymore questions which you would like to direct to Bobby please let me know here
i am so fucking pissed i will be able to shove a cow up a rat's ass... this is the nirvana of pissed. the ultimate. the highest level. the peak. right up there with everything else like the sun, the moon and the stars.
i'm having enough of work. where blames are all pushed towards me. where some badass mother fucking cheebye face whore brain bitch can go off on no need to work for a long long time. and i have to do what that person is supposed to do. this said person is so slack that Garfield seems to be like Boxer, the horse from 'Animal Farm' by George Orwell. (a fantastic read if u haven read it before) who happens to be the more hardworking horse that has graced this earth. i'm having enough of getting backstabbed all the time. FUCK OFF and get off my back.
Endure. 3 more months and some other poor soul will have to put up with all this. 5 more months, and i'm out of this place. now i really understand why my senior was feeling the exact same way as i m now.
What if i...
never existed in your life??
i was thinking... what if random people did not exist in my life. would my life be different? if jasmine wasn't around, 01S91 wun have been together till now. thanks to her for bringing the class, or at least what's left of the class together.
brandon and joanne. if you guys weren't in the 24th or dint exist. i believe that the 24th wun have been so united. for all the smses, all the calls, all the arrangements. thank you.
the f***ing old ladies would go to work at the same place as me. wun call them colleagues... thanks for teaching me the true meaning of backstabbing and allowing me to see the real world and preparing myself better for future backstabbers.
the cleaner in charge of my block, whom is the most dilligent and hardworking cleaner i've ever seen in my life. no filthy cockcroaches that i have to deal with..
many people have made a difference in my life. and we meet everyone for a reason. it's for you to figure it out.
the fella who interviewed you for the previous job gave u such a bad time, made u the butt of his every joke and dint give u the job. why? he gave u a lesson. be prepared to meet this kind of people. not all people are kind.
life's a great drama. everybody or everything plays its part. be it being a lead actor, or jus a supporting role. it's everything together that makes it great. hence i thank everyone for making a difference to bobby's life.
and yes.... what difference have i made in your life? would it be any different if i did not exist in the first place?
anyway, it seems to be a good closing for 2005 for many. my soccer guys especially... fushman has got his fushwoman... actionman aaron has found his actionwoman.. of cos president hans is with his first lady.. the treasurer dx is with the errrr... treasureses? andreas salim no need to say, that one is getting married potential already.. haha. mark pravin both still paired up... but not to each other thankfully.. and reportedly ernie is seeing someone. ho ya.. and james. nearly forgot. so there you go! so by the next match i expect to see the ladies cheering us on by the sidelines ya?
a new milestone in my life over this christmas... played cards consecutively for 6hrs+. holy shit. 2 more hours and it would have been a full day at work. if only work was like that. HAHAHA. was a great gathering at bran's place. thanks to bran and jo for making it all possible. even though the food part was lacking in the 'ooommpphh' factor of last year, but it still managed to feed everybody. well done =) special mention to jo and esther thanks for the present and card. you guys are so sweet!!
it's really quite hard to blog after only 3hrs of slp. haha... many to say. but the mind is willing, the brain is not... or shud i say the heart is willing but the mind is not?? arrrghh... nvm. u get my point now don't you?
Little Match Girl
The following is one of my favourite stories. but somehow not many people like this story. but maybe you should see it in a different light...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It was terribly cold and nearly dark on the last evening of the old year, and the snow was falling fast. In the cold and the darkness, a poor little girl, with bare head and naked feet, roamed through the streets. It is true she had on a pair of slippers when she left home, but they were not of much use. They were very large, so large, indeed, that they had belonged to her mother, and the poor little creature had lost them in running across the street to avoid two carriages that were rolling along at a terrible rate. One of the slippers she could not find, and a boy seized upon the other and ran away with it, saying that he could use it as a cradle, when he had children of his own. So the little girl went on with her little naked feet, which were quite red and blue with the cold. In an old apron she carried a number of matches, and had a bundle of them in her hands. No one had bought anything of her the whole day, nor had anyone given her even a penny. Shivering with cold and hunger, she crept along; poor little child, she looked the picture of misery. The snowflakes fell on her long, fair hair, which hung in curls on her shoulders, but she regarded them not.

Lights were shining from every window, and there was a savory smell of roast goose, for it was New-year’s eve—yes, she remembered that. In a corner, between two houses, one of which projected beyond the other, she sank down and huddled herself together. She had drawn her little feet under her, but she could not keep off the cold; and she dared not go home, for she had sold no matches, and could not take home even a penny of money. Her father would certainly beat her; besides, it was almost as cold at home as here, for they had only the roof to cover them, through which the wind howled, although the largest holes had been stopped up with straw and rags. Her little hands were almost frozen with the cold.

Ah! perhaps a burning match might be some good, if she could draw it from the bundle and strike it against the wall, just to warm her fingers. She drew one out—“scratch!” how it sputtered as it burnt! It gave a warm, bright light, like a little candle, as she held her hand over it. It was really a wonderful light. It seemed to the little girl that she was sitting by a large iron stove, with polished brass feet and a brass ornament. How the fire burned! and seemed so beautifully warm that the child stretched out her feet as if to warm them, when, lo! the flame of the match went out, the stove vanished, and she had only the remains of the half-burnt match in her hand.

She rubbed another match on the wall. It burst into a flame, and where its light fell upon the wall it became as transparent as a veil, and she could see into the room. The table was covered with a snowy white table-cloth, on which stood a splendid dinner service, and a steaming roast goose, stuffed with apples and dried plums. And what was still more wonderful, the goose jumped down from the dish and waddled across the floor, with a knife and fork in its breast, to the little girl. Then the match went out, and there remained nothing but the thick, damp, cold wall before her.

She lighted another match, and then she found herself sitting under a beautiful Christmas-tree. It was larger and more beautifully decorated than the one which she had seen through the glass door at the rich merchant’s. Thousands of tapers were burning upon the green branches, and colored pictures, like those she had seen in the show-windows, looked down upon it all. The little one stretched out her hand towards them, and the match went out.

The Christmas lights rose higher and higher, till they looked to her like the stars in the sky. Then she saw a star fall, leaving behind it a bright streak of fire. “Someone is dying,” thought the little girl, for her old grandmother, the only one who had ever loved her, and who was now dead, had told her that when a star falls, a soul was going up to God.

She again rubbed a match on the wall, and the light shone round her; in the brightness stood her old grandmother, clear and shining, yet mild and loving in her appearance. “Grandmother,” cried the little one, “O take me with you; I know you will go away when the match burns out; you will vanish like the warm stove, the roast goose, and the large, glorious Christmas-tree.” And she made haste to light the whole bundle of matches, for she wished to keep her grandmother there. And the matches glowed with a light that was brighter than the noon-day, and her grandmother had never appeared so large or so beautiful. She took the little girl in her arms, and they both flew upwards in brightness and joy far above the earth, where there was neither cold nor hunger nor pain, for they were with God.

In the dawn of morning there lay the poor little one, with pale cheeks and smiling mouth, leaning against the wall; she had been frozen to death on the last evening of the year; and the New-year’s sun rose and shone upon a little corpse! The child still sat, in the stiffness of death, holding the matches in her hand, one bundle of which was burnt. “She tried to warm herself,” said some. No one imagined what beautiful things she had seen, nor into what glory she had entered with her grandmother, on New-year’s day.

no title
Gotta remind myself there are 4 things to be mentioned. but i can only remember 3. sigh.

1. The Sun
2. Fat Woman on Bus
3. Another Day
4. ????? (still tinking)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
i love the Sun. actually got a love hate relationship with it. but i figured i love it more. but the reason i love the Sun is very different from the rest of the people that loves it. Others love the Sun cos they like to tan themselves until black black. or some of them are beachboys or beachgirls. like to go beach and play. so if got the Sun. they can play more. My reason very simple one.
every morning, as usual my nose will be blocked. even if the air how fresh i also cannot fully enjoy it. the only only way to clear the blockage, is to stand in the Sun. or be exposed to it. takes less then 5 seconds. anything else i do. no use. So i really really appreciate the Sun.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I was on the way home from work. Long day at work so i went home abit later. Got up the bus as usual after waiting a century for it. This King Kong of a fat woman followed me up. i was like 'watever' man. first thing i noticed was the no eating sign. (somehow i cannot find that sign online) but most of us will know what it looks like rite? the one with the burger and soft drink picture on it?

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

found the picture! - credits to jo

it still tickles me when i see it now cos i know many of us always joke that we jus cannot eat burger and drink soft drink, but can eat many other things.

so i moved to an unoccupied spot and stood there. the King Kong of a fat woman came and stood in front of me. by now i realised, she was holding a BURGER KING burger. it's ok if she was holding one. rite? but it was a half eaten one... hmmmm.... but what's wrong with holding on to a half eaten burger? FUCK! she started to munch on the burger. standing right in front of me who was like famished and ready to eat a cow. and then i suddenly thought of the no eating sign. FUCK!!!!!! you eat other things nevermind leh. still got excuse ma... can say they put 'no eat burger'. so i eat other things lor. but this King Kong of a fat woman, seriously go and eat a BURGER LAR!!! wth man!!! slowly bite somemore.

suddenly someone got off.. and she went to sit down. she was holding the burger on the hand which she used to hold the railing and the burger brushed against the shoulder of the person sitting in front of her. but the King Kong of a fat woman jus somehow pretend she never see!! damn disgusting lar.... the person in front damn poor thing. got burger stain. go home also dunno how come got burger stain. haiyo.

and then this little girl and her mum came to sit beside her. but she so fat. so only the little girl can occupy the seat. but also not sit. she only got space to stand up. then the King Kong of a fat woman kept staring at the little girl. while eating her burger. still slowly biting. FUCK. the little girl got very scared and wanted to change place lor. wah lau. so fat still so mean. this kind of people stay at home lar. FUCK. still dare to come out.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I got an idea. Why not we add another day. so that we can make it an Eight Day Week. 5 days work week. with 3 days of weekend. this is a good idea. dun you think so. we can name it Mingday. Ming day sounds like ming tian. which is tomorrow mar... so got abit of pun intended. we can put it after Friday. and before Saturday. there will be no changes to the year. still 365 days. just that there will be fewer weeks in a year. 3 days weekend good mar. more time to relax. more time for people to go shopping. more time for people to go out and spend. more people spend money. Singapore better! and more time for people to rest. more time for people to sleep. so when the weekend finish. people feel more refresh. people will work better! it's a win win situation! AHA!! let's just start it for 2006 ok?
oh wait. cannot. becos those people that very smart at making money already printed those 2006 calenders already. print anything on it also can. print 5566, print soccer clubs Liverpool, print some nice nice expensive cars, print some chio girl wear bikini one. got people like they sure buy. they sell so expensive somemore. very smart hor? actually anything u want to print something on it can also. sure sell more expensive already. too bad toothbrush too small hor? if not i can go and print on toothbrush also. den sell expensive toothbrush. make many $$$!!
Strength Matters
Here's what i was saying i will elaborate more on.....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It was a bright and sunny morning... but i wasn't feeling this bright and sunny just last night. bad ass mood man. but let's not talk about that. so i woke up damn damn late for work agn. this time i was saved by my mum.. she woke up and found me still in bed~ and suddenly screamed at me!

i was like ''WHAT?!?!''

she went like ''#$&#& LATE #%&#%* VERY LATE $^@&@& VERY VERY LATE!!!!''

i went like ''ok'' and dragged my sorry ass down to work. a severe lack of sleep is not helping my concentration much. knocked into my office's lao auntie while going to the pantry to get some water in an attempt to freshen up. and she started SCREAMING!! 2 women screaming at me so early in the morning?!?!!

KARMA IS DAMN BAD LAR!!

i couldn't be bothered to answer her..... but this couldn't be botheredness shown by me is gonna proved to be a fatal mistake because i dint say anything to her hence not saying ''sorry'' in the process. she walked past me and started yakking away agn... oh my god. now she is on fire.... waiting for my bottle to fill never ever felt so long. really had the urge to use the water i was filling to douse her flames. but i rather not waste my precious water on such a mean creature.

peace after the storm. great. i proceeded to my normal routine... and surprise surprise... one of my buddies in office bought mee rebus for me. it was fantastic mee rebus from the canteen. i've never expected such great standard from this canteen which has received nothing but condemnations from level 1 to level 20 of the building. (my building has 20 levels) it was 1030am. felt much better now. i'm just waiting for 1230 to arrive so that i can leave for my SHOOTING. (before you guys forget i'm actually a policeman, yes, i'm a policeman but i'm just not doing policing work.)

i was ready to leave when my batchmate who was slated to shoot with me appeared in front of me and offered to travel down with me. and i had no excuse to say no. (i was too tired to think of wat to say then) so i said 'yea ok' and den i had to wait for him until 1.15pm!!!

reached the place a little late. and like all kiasu singaporean, which i was supposed to be also if i dint have to wait for the fella, they were all there already.. it was a first come first shoot basis.. so i was the 2nd last followed by my batchmate.. damn..

we had to go change. dun ask me why but i have no idea why we have to shoot in our uniform. so i went to the toilet with the uniform of mine which i have not worn for more then a year ever since i was posted to my current vocation. a sudden surge of nostalgia overcame me as i put on the uniform and looked into the mirror. it reminded me of the times when i had to wear it everyday, and bunk in with all my friends fellow colleagues. and of cos i still look good in uniform. something i'm very proud of. even though the size of my uniform went up a couple of sizes... seems like my gaining weight exercise after i joined the office somehow went haywire and gone out of proportion. forget that.

i was issued with my gun or rather they would call it the Taurus .38 Revolver. like that sounds more cool? i dunno man. i handled it with rather comfortable ease.. still knowing what to do after a year of not touching it anymore. felt good fondling it. so i waited for my turn, with my Revolver by my side. Haven't felt like a policeman for a long time.

i was the 4th and last detail. detail meaning the 4th round. so it was a rather long wait. about 20mins per detail.. and the weather was HOT!! and i did not have enough sleep the night before. so i was feeling very uncomfortable and frustrated. geezz. finally the call came ''Detail 4!!!'' by now my nonchalantness about the shoot transformed into bouts of nervousness. bah.. how come will nervous!?!? it's because of the $200 at stake. if i could shoot well enuff and garner enuff points for marksman, den i can get the $200. so i went in there. telling myself i can do it.

there're 4 stages for this shooting test. 10 bullets for warm up. 20 bullets 1st round 20 bullets 2nd round. and 10 bullets from various distance for last round.

the target doesn't look like this. but i jus wanna give u the picture for explanational purposes. the black area would give me 2pts. and the white area 1pt. any bullets outside means nothing. 3 different distance. 23m 15m and 9m and points are accumulated like this... ok. we go on....

sure enough, my sheer confidence brought me true the 1st round. 39/40. but at the end of it. i was feeling abit off already. fingers were not listening to my commands as much as i want it to. i was hoping can tahan somemore. 2nd round started. my weak fingers were starting to show. my morale were really affected by now. was still hoping that i could somehow msucle my way thru. but this is not my leg.... this is my finger!! ended up 30/40. very off marksman standard already. demoralised. i've lost too much points.

last round. 10 bullets. no strength left in finger. i had to pull very very very hard and even a few times before i could manage to trigger off the bullet. wasn't a good feeling. 15/20.

final score was 84/100 and got me a 1st Class, well there goes my $200. if there's one good thing that came out of todae it reminded me that....

我是警察.

Makan Bubra
As i'm doing this, i might as well do this for everyone. i'm going to talk about food. it's funny how i never blogged about makan before. looking at me every will know i love makan. i have no idea how i'm going to categorize everything but i'll just list them down as i go along. so pardon me if everything is really quite messy.

everyone knows that if u want good and cheap food, you do not eat at orchard. but i'm going to try and list down the saving grace of the couple of joints in town worth paying a visit to.

1) Scotts Shopping Center Food Court - Beef Noodles.

2) Orchard Emerald Food Court - Beef Noodles

3) Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao - this place is not THAT cheap. However it's priced quite reasonably. serves fantastic food regardless of whichever restuarant u patronise. Located at the 4th or 5th level of Takashimaya Shopping Center

Now i'm gonna take us little away from town... but it's still around the proximity.

1) Rochor Beancurd - best in singapore in my own opinion. the Geylang Beancurd provides a close fight. Situated just off town and waking distance from Plaza Singapura if you're in the exercising mood. It's this little shop house of it's own selling beancurd, soyabean and grass jelly. Don't forget to check out the Roti Prata stall at the coffeeshop just beside it. Ask for the fish curry. Pretty decent prata to have before enjoying that cooling bowl of beancurd.

2) Newton Circus - has a very wide variety of food. but need to know which stall to patronise. sometimes they tend to 'chop' tourist and anyhow state price. and abit on the expensive side. however, if you love variety, you shud jus come here and try not to look too much like a tourist. The situation have improved recently as the hawkers were all adviced to state down their food pricing either on the menu or the stall. Been moved to further down the road due to renovation at it's original site.

3) Hawker Center Opposite Sim Lim Square - this is variety too! targetted more towards the breakfast and lunchtime crowd, while newton targets the supper crowd. There's marvellous satay beehoon, hokkien prawn mee (long long queue) and roast meat / chicken rice. This place is old school. with the low sitting chairs and dark dark ceiling caused by the many years of cooking. Definately worth a visit after shopping around for your latest tech gadget at sim lim square. and also shopping at bugis village which is on the other side of the hawker center. so this place is actually flanked by both sides of shopping!

4) Chinatown Maxwell Road Food Center - Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice Stall 10 very famous and well visited by many celebrities. Even some big time ang moh fella came to try his chicken rice. This Maxwell Road Food Center is along Chinatown. Another must visit place. Can take the north-east MRT line. and stop at chinatown stop.

5) China Street Fritters Stall 64 at the same place Maxwell... Eat until shoik shoik... in dialect its Ngoh Hiang in chinese it's wu xiang. call it whatever u want... but i love it..

6) Tiong Shian Porridge Centre at 265 New Bridge Rd also along Chinatown but on the other side of it. Fantastic and generous servings of many kinds of porridge... however their pork is my fave.

let's head down to another stop along the north-east MRT line. Little India and Farrer Park Station. the shopping places located in between this 2 stops. Nearest to Little India Station would have to be Tekka Market. A very traditional market place with a food center located within.

1) Stall #01-323 Tekka Market sells great Kambing Soup and Dum Bryani. and quite alot of Indian food u can find around here as well.

Farrer Park of cos is near Mustafa Shopping Center. Opens 24hrs Everyday. HA! My fave place to shop! and it's near my house. walking distance even.

of course these places mentioned above are the more 'accessible' places and near to town. There surely many more food places in Singapore all over the place. and also even in these areas i would have missed out some places. i've considered other factors like if there're other things to do at the place or other interesting things to see, or shopping centers before placing them in the list.

here are other places for 'shoik' food.

Roti Prata - 237/239 Jln Kayu. Most reputated as the best in Singapore

- Crispy Roti Prata along Upper Thomson Road just before Thomson Plaza on . the other side of the nearer to Sin Ming.

Laksa - 328 Katong Laksa at 51/53 East Coast Rd S428770. No need to say, best around

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

- Sungei Road Laksa comes close and only at $2. Blk 27 Jln Berseh #01-100 S200027

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Chwee Kueh - Blk 27 Bendemeer Rd #01-659 very unique. hard to find. almost one of it's kind around. a rarity nowadays.

Crab - F&D King Crab (Seafood) at Blk 204 Serangoon Central #01-104
S550204 i'm not really a big fan of crabs, but this is one of the most famous store ard.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

now that we're in Serangoon, there're many many things there as well. Chomp Chomp at Serangoon Gardens. It's like a further away version of Newton. Sell about the same kind of stuffs as well. talking about variety here...

Nasi Lemak - No. 1 Adam's Nasi Lemak at Adam Rd Food Ctr Stall 2.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

- International Food Stall at Blk 2 Changi Village Rd #01-57

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

- Ponggol Nasi Lemak near Hougang. dun have the exact address but it's my personal fave.

all above is in my own opinion. i would really love to know more about where else has good food. let me know and i shall go try. in the meanwhile. enjoy!!
